I’ve enjoyed your site for years (although only recently signed up.) It became part of my daily routine to check Product Dose and see what interesting or whimsical things would be posted next. More than anything, I came to the site to read the clever and often funny product descriptions. I hope you sabbatical is enjoyable and rejuvenating. But if your sabbatical becomes of a more permanent nature I wish to thank you for filling my days with a little more creativity, and making my wish list a little longer. I'm guessing right now the time it takes to update the site with unique content is simply not getting a return. That's understandable. Everyone is feeling the economic crisis. But this calls into question two things: 1) Either the site is not getting you a return because you are not updating it frequently enough - to increase readership and visits - and therefore ad revenue or click through affiliate dollars. OR 2) You haven't figured out that this isn't 1842. It's the interwebs. Remote working. My guess is that between your existing readers, no matter how dwindling the numbers may be (see opening paragraph), you can find at least half a dozen who could post to the blog and keep it afloat. Indeed, they may even turn it around (see 1). Just sayin'. |
